The strategies provide a robust policy framework to safeguard Qatar’s environment for future generations. Through a series of innovative projects, Mawaqif Qatar is not only enhancing urban mobility but also making significant strides towards environmental conservation.

Recognizing the profound impact transportation systems have on the environment, they have made it their mission to develop projects that not only enhance urban mobility but also minimize environmental footprints.
Key Initiatives and Projects:
Promoting Sustainability in Transportation Development
Mawaqif Qatar has made a notable impact by integrating electric vehicle (EV) charger stations into their projects. The initiative is taken to encourage the use of eco-friendly vehicles, reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional gasoline-powered cars. By facilitating the transition to electric vehicles, it supports cleaner air and a healthier urban environment. The statistics show that two to three vehicles use the EV charger station daily in Hotel Park EV charging station instead of driving equivalent internal combustion engine vehicles which results in saving approximately 16.56 kg of CO2 emissions per day, which amounts to about 6.05 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. These savings will vary based on actual driving distances, local electricity generation sources, and vehicle efficiencies.
Promoting Digitalization and Sustainability
In a bid to reduce waste and enhance efficiency, Mawaqif Qatar has implemented a ticketless system in different projects e.g., in the Hamad Medical Corporation parking management system project and a payment-on-exit system in the Hotel Park project. These systems minimize the use of paper tickets and reduce cash transactions, thereby saving resources and cutting down on waste. This digital approach not only streamlines operations but also significantly reduces the environmental impact.
Promoting Energy Efficiencies
Mawaqif Qatar is committed to energy efficiency across all its projects. By incorporating energy-efficient technologies and practices, they ensure that their facilities consume less power and operate more sustainably. This includes the use of LED lighting, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and smart building management systems to optimize energy usage.
Promoting Water Efficiency and Conservation
Water conservation is another critical area where Mawaqif Qatar is making a difference. They have implemented measures to reduce water consumption in their facilities, including the use of low-flow fixtures, water-efficient landscaping, and advanced irrigation systems. In addition, Mawaqif Qatar implemented the waterless car wash which led to conserving water, reducing pollution, and lowering energy consumption.
Promoting Sustainability in Recycling
Mawaqif Qatar has established a mega recycling station in the Hotel Park project, achieving significant results in waste management. The station has successfully segregated almost 10 tonnes of materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, and metals, resulting in a reduction of 32 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This initiative underscores their commitment to recycling and reducing environmental impact through waste management. In terms of public education and awareness campaigns, Mawaqif Qatar has organized different training and workshops for their staff to educate them about the importance of recycling and how to do it correctly. In addition, Mawaqif Qatar has encouraged the public to use the recycling station and launch media campaigns through social media, and advertisement boards to spread awareness about recycling benefits and best practices.
Providing Extra Mileage Service
In the Hotel Park project, Mawaqif Qatar has introduced a park-and-ride service that allows customers who work in the West Bay and Dafna area to park their cars in the designated underground parking and use bus shuttle services provided by Mawaqif Qatar to reach their offices. This service not only saves time but also reduces the number of vehicles on the road, leading to lower emissions and less traffic congestion. It is a practical example of how sustainable mobility solutions can enhance urban living.
Greenery Initiative
Mawaqif Qatar has also launched a greenery initiative within the Hotel Park project, establishing a nursery that produces 150 plants per month which cover the use of the park. This initiative beautifies the area and contributes to better air quality and provides a more pleasant urban environment. By increasing green spaces, Mawaqif Qatar is helping to create healthier and more sustainable urban landscapes.
Community Engagement and Awareness
Mawaqif Qatar believes that sustainability is a collective effort and involves the communities they serve in their initiatives. In the previous year, Mawaqif Qatar formed the first largest electric vehicle icon to promote sustainability the event successfully occurred at Barahat Square in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
Valet ticketless service
Mawaqif Qatar’s launch of the first ticketless valet service in Qatar which create significant milestone in the company's journey towards sustainability and innovation. By eliminating paper tickets, the service significantly reduces paper waste, contributing to the conservation of natural resources. It offers superior customer experience through a digital system which simplifies the parking process, making it more convenient for users. Customers no longer need to worry about losing their valet tickets or dealing with the hassle of paper receipts. The app provides real-time updates on the status of their vehicle, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.
